Biography

V....Vaughan, is a busy Texas artist.  Virginia Vaughan lives with her husband and three children on the family ranch in Manor, TX, near her childhood home, Austin.

The youngest of seven children, she began drawing very early, balancing her creativity with a great love of sports and the outdoors and attended Texas Women's University on scholarships for tennis and art.  At age 19 she began her professional career, working for the next five years as art director or creative director at several Austin agencies.  After winning a number of "ADDY" awards Virginia established her own free lance business, V....Vaughan.  (Clients include local radio stations, Steck-Vaughan publishing, IBM, Harcourt Brace, and Samsung).  She eventually began specializing in design and then specifically, T-shirt design.

V....Vaughan & Co. has  since  grown to a full service, automated T-shirt complex in Round Rock, Texas ( http://www.RockSports.net ).  The colorful T's are featured in nationally known catalogs.

In 1986, after six years of independent study, Virginia published 150 years of Texas, a huge and humorous map of Texas.  The map sold over 10,000 prints and is in it's fourth printing.  The success of 150 Years of Texas continued with T-shirt versions of the map.  And a whole line of Texas theme T's followed.
Since 1989 Virginia has been the art instructor at Round Rock Christian Academy where her students have won numerous awards.  She hosts FUN art workshops all over the country.

Virginia began painting nearly full time in 1999, has traveled to art shows all over the Southwest,  Palm Springs, CA  to Maine, and is now represented by five galleries.*

V....Vaughan remains a very busy artist, developing new T-shirt lines, teaching, and devoting time to her three active (and creative!) children.  She paints primarily in oils, and mostly "en plein air" on location.

"Being an artist is being a communicator.  I pray that my work will speak encouragement to the viewer.  I love light and color and creating a message, though I cannot say I "CREATE" anything.  There is ONE Creator, the LORD GOD.  In His great love He made us able to enjoy creativity--of ourselves and of others.
